LAGAWE, Ifugao, July 18 (PIA) -- Youth in the province are now involving themselves in the fight of illegal drugs and terrorism for a progressive and peaceful community towards national development.
Forty four Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials from the different municipalities of the province had pledged to commit themselves with utmost sincerity to uphold the Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo (KKDAT) program in their respective localities.
"We pledge to cascade the KKDAT program and take the right action to fight against any illegal drugs, terrorism and other related activities and be good stewards in the implementation of this program by empowering the youth to create and develop an organized and safer country to live in," they said.
They also committed to perform their duties and responsibilities to stimulate motivation to their fellow youth through active participation in community and school - based activities of the KKDAT program.
"That in our capacity as members of the said program, we promise to uphold the objectives set by this program and inherit others to do the same," the youth officials stated.
KKDAT is a program of the Philippine National Police that first launched in Region 11 on November 9, 2018. It aims to organize a youth movement that encourages and strengthens the youth's ability in suppressing the illegal drug and terrorism problem in the country.
This is also to organize, train and mobilize the youth and student sectors as advocacy support groups that will stand against illegal drugs and terrorism through the advocacy program of the PNP, and to inflame the spirit of volunteerism among youth and students sectors through the police community relation platforms and programs.
