Stay disciplined, do good deeds, new PRO-Cor chief tells cops

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet,April 16(PIA)-- The newly installed director of the Police Regional Office-Cordillera(PRO-Cor) called on Cordillera police officers to continue to stay disciplined as he vowed continue the good practices started by his predecessors.

"The PRO-Cor has gone along way as a police organization. We shall continue to build upon our gains and the legacies of the previous commanders to further bring the PRO-Cor to greater heights," Police Brigadier General Ronald Oliver Lee, the newly installed PRO-Cor Regional Director, said during the change of command ceremony at the Camp Bado Dangwa here on April 12.

"To Team PRO-Cor, let us continue to impose strict discipline among our ranks putting emphasis to those who are new in the service, without the scalawags, the incompetent, and the incorrigible; and reward those good performers and those who do good deeds. Let us observe the guiding principles of discipline, dedication and service. As police officers, we are mandated to enforce the law without fear nor favor, but be fair and just," Lee added.

He committed to continue the programs and advocacies of his predecessors particularly in working side by side with other agencies, stakeholders and counterparts to help fulfill the promise of the Chief PNP for genuine reform in the police organization to effectively serve the people.

He also vowed to intensify the campaign against illegal drugs, crime groups and personalities, arrest of wanted persons and the implementation of the one-strike policy on illegal gambling in the region.

During this time of COVID pandemic, Lee encourages commanders of the different police stations to adopt innovations but not deviating from established police operational procedure on the conduct of operations.

Directorate for Integrated Police Operations - Northern Luzon Director PLtGen. Israel Ephraim Dickson who represented PNP Chief General Debold Sinas, presided the turnover of command of PRO-Cor from PBGen. R'win Pagkalinawan who is now placed under non-duty status while waiting for his retirement, to Lee.

Prior to his new assignment, Lee headed the PNP Drug Enforcement Group and served as Deputy Director of the Directorate for Human Resource and Doctrine Development at the national headquarters.

Lee, who hails from Bauang, La Union, is a member of the Philippine Military Academy "Tanglaw-Diwa" Class of 1992.

Dickson, a former PRO-Cor Regional Director from Abra, congratulated the outgoing Regional Director for a job well done with the improvements of the PRO-Cor and the programs and advocacies he has started and implemented in the region.

He called on the snappy men and women of the PRO-Cor to give to Gen. Lee the upmost cooperation and support that they have given to him and to Pagkalinawan during their stint as PRO-Cor chief.

"Let's volt in and strive in refining our duties to perform our respective responsibilities as enforcers of the law. Be truthful and remain dedicated to doing this thru effective and efficient means," he added. (JDP/RMC- PIA CAR)
